ABOUT

Why we exist.

marshalltranslation was set up in Bad Saulgau in 2019. The town sits at the centre of Oberschwaben, a district that runs east from Biberach to Sigmaringen with significant industrial density in precision engineering, agricultural machinery, and medical technology. These industries share a translation need that general-purpose translation agencies frequently underestimate: documents where the text has direct legal, regulatory, or patient safety consequences, and where a mistranslation is not just inaccurate but potentially costly or dangerous.

The focus from the beginning was regulated content: patent applications, EU regulatory filings, medical device documentation, legal agreements, and financial reporting for cross-border transactions. Not because other content is not worth translating, but because this is where specialist knowledge makes the largest difference and where clients have been most poorly served by non-specialist providers.

We work with a carefully managed network of specialist translators rather than a large general pool. Each translator has domain credentials in addition to language proficiency. For legal work, that means legal training or practice. For medical device documentation, clinical or biomedical background. For EU regulatory filings, practical experience with the relevant framework. This matching between translator background and document type is not flexible -- it is the point.

Three principles

Precision

In regulated industries, inaccuracy means liability. Every decision we make is oriented toward accuracy.

Domain knowledge

Subject matter expertise is not optional. Our translators understand the field, not just the language.

Accountability

We document what we do and why. Every project is recorded so you have an audit trail.
